10 October 2018: Saint Cyprien Rest Day; 8 miles, 578 Total

The overnight storms abated about 8 am, but the forecast remained poor. By 9 am, we negotiated a 2nd night. A nearby boulangerie offered fresh chocolate croissants to go with items purchased the prior evening, so we had breakfast as the clouds rolled in. After a short walk to the beach, the rain resumed mid-day. I shopped for the evening meal, Robin got a flat tire, and Michael and John had lunch at a nearby restaurant.

John's Mussels. Sorry I missed this restaurant. That's a happy clammer. Sorry.

Dinner this evening will be chicken and mushroom pasta in a red sauce with a salad of bib lettuce, sliced tomatoes, and olive oil accompanied by a Roussillon (local) rouge. I targeted a Lidl Market (closed), then another market (open). I returned just as the rain resumed. I messaged the others at the restaurant, and they returned in heavy rain. However, the storms seem to have passed, so tomorrow should be dry.

I made lodging reservations for Figueres (1 night) and Gerona (2 nights) in Spain. The three SLO riders will return by train to Bordeaux on Sunday, 14 October. I'll have one more night in Gerona, then one night in a hotel near El Prat Airport before my 6 am, 16 October return flight. We are all looking forward to a few days in Spain. The forecast is good with temperatures in the upper 70s.

Dog of the Day. Just one of the many dogs being walked, I was using my phone for map.me guidance yesterday and failed to get a photo.

A relaxing day, once the rain ceased, to walk to the beach on the Mediterranean Sea. The waves were active due to the storm, offering beautiful sea, cloud, and wave views.

Peter Appears to Collect the Rent. Peter is the property manager for perhaps 25 different area properties. Peter has mastered Google Translate and was able to have a good conversation with Robin and John. His allocation of a single roll of toilet paper prove sufficient. TMI?
